Open Access Policy
This journal provides open access to all of its content under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
This means that all content is available free of charge to the user or their institution. Users are free to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without needing prior permission from the publisher or author.
Authors are free to archive their articles in institutional repositories or on their personal websites, provided they cite the publication in Cirugía del Uruguay with the appropriate details.
In adherence to the Transparency and Openness Promotion (TOP) Guidelines for journals and in compliance with Level 1 of Guideline 2 (Data Transparency), authors are urged to include a "Data Availability" section in their original research articles. This section should indicate whether the dataset used in their research is available and, if so, where it can be accessed.
If an author has their research data on a server, they should declare it within the article using the following phrase:
“The dataset supporting the results of this study is available at…”
Otherwise, they must include a phrase within the article stating the following:
"The dataset supporting the results of this study is not available."
Copyright Policy
Authors will not receive any monetary compensation or royalties for the publication of their work in the journal Cirugía del Uruguay.
Authors may enter into other non-exclusive licensing agreements for the distribution of the published version of their work (e.g., depositing it in a repository or publishing it in a monograph), provided that the initial publication in this journal is clearly cited.
Authors are permitted and encouraged to disseminate their work via the internet (e.g., in institutional archives or repositories).

All articles, videos, and images published in the journal Revista Cirugía del Uruguay are under Creative Commons (CC) licenses. These licenses supplement traditional copyright in the following ways: first, the authorship of the referenced document must always be acknowledged, and second, no article or work published in the journal may be used for commercial purposes of any nature.
Authors retain their copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication of their work. This right is simultaneously subject to the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License, which allows sharing of the work provided that the initial publication in this journal is indicated.
No Article Processing Charges (APC)
Our journal does not levy any type of charges for authors. This means there are no costs for submitting articles for evaluation, no article processing charges, no subscription fees, and no other types of costs whatsoever.
