Abstract

Temporal gastrostomy as a method of degravitating the stomach is dealt with, its advantages over prolonged nasogastric catheterization being pointed out. The inlications for the procedure in certain .cases of vagotomy, performed at Prof. Piquinela's clinic (University Hospital, Montevideo) , are discussed. A detailed descri ptions of the technique, post-operative
management and possible complications, is carried out.
