Abstract

5 clinical cases of head and neck cancer are presented: 3
of the hypopharynx, one of the amygdaloid fossa. and one
of tangue and floor of the mouth. Reference is made to
reconstructive techniques after tumor resection, using
vascular microsurgery and transport of flaps and free grafts
towards the neck. The fasciocutaneous flap of the forearm
was folded and employed for the making of a tube; a free
graft of jejunum for reconstruction of the hypopharynx, and
the musculo-cutaneous flap of the re e tus abdominis for
intraoral reconstruction. The method's ductility is
established; and more importan/, the decrease of days of
post-operatory stay. Four of these patients are presently
free of tumor. The remaining one died because of systemic
dissemination
